How Back To Basics Came To Be

The Adirondacks is a beautiful place for your adirondack camping retreat. Come enjoy the solitude at your unique Upstate New York yurt. This Adirondack photo is our retreat hunting camp, but also our home.

Yes, this is what we purchased in 2001 - "Poverty Ridge".  We believed it had potential and solitude.  Needless to say, the previous owners did not respect the beauty of the land, we have worked many days and nights restoring the remote hunting camp on top of Bleecker Mountain.

The Adirondacks has a wilderness on Bleecker Mountain that contains a wonderful solitude. Come enjoy the mountains, backpacking, or hiking. This photo depicts our Back To Basics porch under construction.
In 2001, we added additions to the original structure to make it home sweet home.  The original hunting camp still stands in the center the house

The large camping yurt decks were placed in a remote section of Bleecker Mountain lodging. The yurt now stands for your unique retreat. This deck was placed for Crow's Nest.
In 2003, we decided that Back To Basics was the plan and began clearing and erecting the decking for two unique Adirondack yurts.

Our cabin is located in the Southern Adirondacks on top of Bleecker mountain in Upstate New York. The camps and yurts are located on the same premises as our remote hunting camp. Our remote cabin is called Poverty Ridge. We are located in the southern Adk mountains.
We also finally got our unique remote Adirondack cabin sided.  The name that originally stood on our Bleecker Mountain hunting camp was "Poverty Ridge" and this sign, after being updated, still hangs on the front door of our Upstate New York Camp.

The Northville Lake Placid trail hostel is now titled the Bleecker Bunk. The backpacking in the Aidrondack Silver Lake Wilderness is a solitude all its own. Hiking the Silver Lake Wilderness section of the Northville Lake Placid trail in Upstate New York makes your hiker hostel accommodations and upgrade to the remote conditions you have become accustom too. Your free accommodations await you in the Silver Lake Wilderness.
In April 2003 we purchased a quaint Adirondack log sided hostel, that is now the Bleecker Bunk  for Lake Placid trail thru-hikers. (changed see below)

An excellent choice for your hunting camp in the mountains of Upstate New York. Bear necessities sleeps 6 and is a large cabin at the end of Rhinehart Road. Your hunting or snowmobiling Adirondacks retreat for the group.
In May 2003, a small remote cabin at the end of the road went up for sale.  This was not in the original Back To Basics plan, but we purchased it anyway and are currently working on it for rental.

Crow's Nest yurt provides a unique adk adventure. A different place to stay. Chose from the camps or yurts for your Back To Basic rentals.
The second week in June the Yurts arrived, the tractor trailer could not manage the logging road.  Had to hand transfer the yurts to Back to Basics by pick up truck with the neighbors help.

The yurts were erected the weekend of their arrival.
The yurts went up as planned.  Our yurt crew was the Bleecker neighbors (Doug and Douglas - Father & Son team) and ourselves.

Your wilderness yurt was placed in solitude with help from our Adirondack Bleecker Mountain neighbor. They too respect the mountains of the Adirondacks, and love the remote solitude that is found here.
